This was probably our favorite restaurant in Helen. We came here - easy parking in the lot across the street - and enjoyed the patio music for a bit before heading inside. We sat at a table that looked at the water and this quirky water tower home. We ordered escargot, beers, schnitzel and cake and enjoyed all of it. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable, even with my food restrictions (not eating pork at a German restaurant can be a challenge!). Fair warning, if you order a beer you will get a lot of beer. No small glasses in the place (lol). But we really liked it, and had the weather been nicer, would have happily stayed on the patio.

This was the first place my niece and I relaxed and dined during our stop here on Helen. The beer was refreshing and food and service was comforting. We shared escargot and I had the bratwurst while my niece had the chicken snitzel . We both also shared a hot pretzel which was my favorite. I could definitely stop by again and have some beers and other food items.

Best pretzel ever! I will be dreaming of it until I return. The view of the river and service was incredible.

We aren't huge fans of German food, and the service was a little slow, but the raspberry beer and the pretzel were amazing! The atmosphere makes it feel like you stepped into Germany

I really enjoyed our visit here! The views of the river were great, ambiance was upbeat and welcoming, and our service was very good. The food and the beers was delicious! There was live music outside. Great place to hangout and grab a bite and drink in a beautiful setting.

This restaurant was located at the beginning of Helen, GA. The outside of the building had beautiful murals painted which makes for a cute photo backdrop! They had patio seating and inside seating. The inside had a quaint cozy bar and live music which was a nice touch for ambiance. The host gave us the option of sitting further or close to the music, which was really considerate! I ordered the framboise raspberry beer since I'm not a beer drinker and it tasted like an alcoholic version of carbonated Welch's grape juice. It was so good and refreshing! For an appetizer we order the small pretzel with beer cheese. The pretzel was the perfect size and the beer cheese was really thick, but light at the same time, which I enjoyed! We also ordered the cucumber salad which had a nice dill dressing on it. For dinner I ordered the curry wurst sandwich with the German potato salad. It was amazing, I recommend getting the grilled onions and mushroom on top, *chefs kiss*. My Fiance ordered the Veal schnitzel with a cup of the goulash, both were amazing! My favorite part about this place was that it overlooked the river and if you're there earlier in the day you have a great view of people tubing, which would provide a lot of entertainment if anyone is tubing how I did when I flipped my tube hitting a rock lol

We were in Helen for an early Father's Day celebration. When our usual place was too busy, we decided to give this place a shot and we are so happy with it that I don't plan to go back to the old place! The escargot was yummy! The beer was delicious! The Reuben was great ! We also got the large pretzel which is never frozen we are told and it was delicious! It was enough for the entire table. The picky ones had a variety of non German food to choose from. One of them chose tje wings and said they are yummy. The hubby got the wiener schnitzel and he was super happy but had to take it home as the portions are huge! The staff were nice and attentive. The hostess or owner even came by to sing a German song which was very fun! We have found a new favorite spot in Helen!

I stopped in because they had pork shank on the menu and I am so glad that I did. I was seated outside at a table with a nice view of the river. There was a band, but they were playing covers, no German music. They were just ok, but I was not there for the music. Back to that pork shank. It took about 30 minutes to come out after ordering, there was a crowd and I had my liter of beer, so I was good. When I saw the plate that my server Megan was bringing to my table, I was shocked. It was by far the biggest pork shank that I have ever seen. After my Germany trip last year, I have been searching these meals out. To me, this was the best tasting shank I have ever tasted. I will return
